Can you help with Geoff’s query?
Hello – I have recently bought Chestnut farm in Sambourne. It is a very old tudor building (1551) and I understand that it used to be Quinney’s dairy farm and was also called oak farm in the far distant past.
Have any of your members every researched this building and is there anything in your archive which I could access?

Since posting this query I came across this photograph with the caption below:
Bemjamin William Owen Berrington with an early electric milk float from Quinney’s Dairy Farmers. A. B. Quinney & Sons started in Oak Farm, Sambourne, then later opened a large depot in Bartleet Road. They were subsequently taken over by Dairy Crest.

I have just found this enquiry whilst , trying to find out more about Oak farm, Sambourne. I have an interest in antique furniture and have found a desk made by Plucknett and Steevens of Warwick in the 1870s. On the inside of the drawer is pasted a cheque for the final instalment paying for the farm in 1922.
I work at the County Record Office in Warwick and we could well have information relating to your property. We are of course closed at the present time.
