Before the 12th century, Redditch did not really exist. It was to this area that a party of 12 Cistercian monks came from Garendon in Leicestershire to found a daughter abbey. Over the next five centuries, the town of Redditch emerged. This is a brief account of that story<\/p>\n\n\n\n
