HR – A Brief History

Before the 12th century, Redditch did not really exist. It was to this area that a party of 12 Cistercian monks came from Garendon in Leicestershire to found a daughter abbey. Over the next five centuries, the town of Redditch emerged. This is a brief account of that story

After many years of debate, the Redditch Development Corporation decided that the new town shopping centre should be sited in the current town centre. This resulted in many town centre streets being lost. This gallery records those lost streets.
