MM – The Changing Face Of Redditch

The Jest-a-minute Theatre Company ran two oral history projects, the results of which were presented under the title of “The Changing Face of Redditch”. They covered the period from 1946 to 1985 and as well as individual memories, this collection contains a “Radio Play” compliation of the highlights.

MM – Exhibition Memories

The 2019 RLHS “My Redditch memories” exhibition was held by the Redditch Local History Society a Forge Mill. The memories were augmented by photographs and illustrations, some supplied by the memory donators and some taken from the RLHS archives. They are presented here in the display format used for the exhibition.

MM – Mike Johnson’s Recorded Memories

Mike Johnson was a member of the family that ran Spencer’s Music Shops and was himself a prolific filmmaker and collector of residents’ memories. His collection of oral memories are presented in this gallery, his video films elsewhere in the museum.

Colin Wheeler was born and bred in Redditch, pursued several careers and made countless friends in the town. We had the pleasure of sharing his memories with him and documenting them for him and his family. He donated them to the town.
